KEMSA distribution of toxic arv drugs

Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) has yet again been put on the spot for issuing harmful Antiretroviral drugs (ARVs) that had been phased out due to adverse side effects to patients.

The government had passed out the ARV drugs due to its  adverse side effects  in the country in 2019 despite that the medicines have been lying in the KEMSA warehouse for months now despite the directive to have them disposed.

In march 2020,KEMSA indicated that it had destroyed the toxic drugs and that they were no longer in stock. Shocking news is that the ARV drugs which were distributed to 31 county's were already toxic. The same medicine's which had been passed out in 2019.

This is neglegency of high standards how can KEMSA be irresponsible knowing that these people who take the ARV drugs their immune is weak and then they try to temper with peoples life. They did not consider the lives of these people all.

The government should not take this lightly justice must prevail and the office of KEMSA who distributed the drugs knowing there toxic already should handled so that this does not happen in future.

Even if there is shortage of ARV drugs, realising toxic drugs is not helpful. I do not understand why medicines which are given for free can have a shortage is not like they are being bought. The government should have 0 taxes rate on them so that to avoid the shortage in future.
